The brainstorming phase builds our pipeline of ideas.
We generate ideas with our team, advisors, and external partners. The most promising ideas are developed into a new venture overview which lays out the problem to be solved and our solution, strategy and business model.
GATE 1: Executive team approval

During the validate phase, we diligence the candidate new ventures and select the one or two to launch.
We perform detailed research on market opportunity, business models and the competitive landscape for each of the candidates. Then we force ourselves to pick only the strongest candidate venture and put the rest back on the shelf.
GATE 2: Executive team approval

The launch phase puts the new company into motion.
We form the new company - initially a wholly owned subsidiary of Brighthouse. We attach a startup CEO and recruit the beginnings of the core team. We develop a completel business plan, budget, and financial model. Build prototype and/or product demonstration and file provisional patents.
GATE 3: Advisors and angel investment

The scale phase grows the now independent company.
Company moves out of Brighthouse offices. Transition Startup CEO to go-forward CEO. Grow permanent team. Product rollout and first revenues achieved.
GATE 4: Venture capital investment
